no fish in the sea

Broken - Anson Seabra

sink into the sky, down by the sea, sitting on the wharf. watch the sun take its daily revenue, a frown framing the houses. look out the window, emptiness, weights on him, one step after another through the garden. that small row of untamed forget-me-nots, regret. wilting, lost, never found. grip slipping into the abyss, last pieces of orange melt with the sea, bleed their red blood where it meets the sky. slowly turning to night, nature's mirror reflecting what he does not want to see, one last look, throws his fishing gear in, tears welling in his eye. as he watches their friendship sink, lips gurgling, asking why. why? he asks without expecting an answer. why? he asks while seeing that no fish or human would ever reply. his window open every night, the sea singing and dancing, lonely, he sees the ambient light. his missing piece still lost, he wishes to drown too, but seeing as the fish are watching, he does not dare to be one with the waves. yet.
